The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that paving and line striping operations are planned on U.S. 1 under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in 1 Bensalem and Middletown townships, Bucks County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Sunday, August 17, through Friday, August 22, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 in both directions between Fairhill Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange for paving and for line striping.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
