The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that various construction activities are planned on U.S. 1 under the substantially completed project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of the highway in Bensalem and Middletown townships, Bucks County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, November 17, through Friday, November 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 in both directions between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Business U.S. 1/Penndel Interchange to allow crews to remove temporary signs and perform final clean-up operations along the corridor.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of PennDOT’s $116 million U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
